I was 68 years old when I first learned about gaslighting and realized how deeply my psyche had been damaged by my mother’s skilled use of the technique until she died 13 years ago.
But it didn’t stop there. My mother’s demeaning, self-esteem sucking communication techniques continued to haunt me from the grave.
